Welcome to new SDS member subscriptions; we’re pleased you’re joining our lively and vibrant society and feel sure you’ll enjoy your activities with us.

You can join online by completing the online membership form below and by paying in any of the following ways:

  1. Online - direct bank transfer
  2. Standing order
  3. Cheque
  4. Cash

We prefer online payment and it's easier for you, too but for all methods please see instructions below.

Fees:

SDS membership costs:

  • Standard: £25.00 for new adult members and lapsed members rejoining SDS
  • Renewal: £20.00 for current members renewing before the SDS AGM
  • Discounted: £5.00 for members under 25 years or those not in receipt of a wage or a pension

 

For those joining to participate in our Christmas and March productions, a reduced subscription of £12.50 is applied. For our May production, new joiners pay a full annual subscription, which will cover them until renewal in the subsequent year.

There continues to be no charge for scripts or additional production fees.

Membership year:

The SDS membership year runs from May 1st to April 30th each year. If you’re joining part way through a membership year you’ll likely not be liable for the full amount in this year - see the 'membership policy' below the online form for details.

Your entitlement as a member: 

  1. You can take part in any production that takes place during the membership year your subscription covers
  2. You will receive the monthly newsletter via email (assuming you give us permission to send it to you)
  3. You will be issued with your unique log in details enabling you to access the members’ area of the SDS website
  4. You may attend and vote at the annual SDS AGM and any other member-specific meetings that may be called
  5. Invitations to various SDS social activities often with free admission (some are chargeable to non-members)

For all payment methods, please follow the instructions below. Please ensure you read the section regarding GDPR and data protection and complete that section of the form. While we encourage use of the online form below, if you prefer you can download our paper membership form and use the postal address in point (4) below.

Members are encouraged to pay online as follows: 

1) Set up a single payment or annual standing order, using the following details:

Reference: Your name (Important! Without this we will not be able to identify your payment) 
For annual standing orders please specify subsequent payment dates as 1st May. 

2) Send an email to us confirming names of members covered by the payment or standing order, the payment amount and date, and your contact details and data protection permissions (see below). 

3) Please complete the online form and submit it: complete the data protection permissions section.

4) To pay your annual membership fee by cash or cheque, please complete the online form and place your remittance (Cheques payable to Sudbury Dramatic Society (1921)) in a sealed envelope to SDS Membership Secretary, Quay Theatre, Quay Lane, Sudbury, CO10 2AN. 

 

 

 

Membership Policy

Anyone involved in the Society’s productions is expected to become a full member, except for those providing occasional backstage help. Membership must begin at or before the commencement of a Society production. 

Membership runs from 1st May until 30th April the following year. Anyone joining SDS for the first time between 1st November and 31st January will pay half the annual rate. Anyone joining SDS for the first time after 31st January and before 1st May will be charged the full rate but will not be charged again until May of the following year. 

To receive the Society Newsletter by post please add £5 to your membership fee to defray postage costs 

Data Protection 

(Only complete this section if you are a new member or wish to change your permissions) 

1, We will use the information provided on this form solely to further the aims of Sudbury Dramatic Society and the Quay Theatre, and to this end we may disclose it to employees of the Quay Theatre, or to other members of the Society. We will not disclose it to any other person or organisation without first seeking your permission. 

2. With your permission: 

We may keep it electronically, and if we do we will take reasonable steps to keep it secure from unauthorised access. 

We will send by email, or if requested by post, our Newsletter, published 10 times per year 

We will send by email news items we feel will be of interest to our members; these may include audition notices from other societies, news of performances and events which have been received by us and vetted by the Committee before sending.
